Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro City, the capital of bossa nova and samba, Rose and Ramatis moved to the United States in 1993. They have become highly recognized in the Brazilian, Spanish and American communities in South Florida and around the world, receiving numerous awards; Rose as the best Brazilian singer and Ramatis as the best Brazilian producer and musician.
Ramatis is a guitar and bass player, songwriter, musical producer, arranger and sound engineer. Considered as one of today’s biggest Bossa Nova guitarist/bassist in the US, performing MPB, Brazilian Jazz, Electronic Music and Bossa-Nova at the most prestigious local venues.
Rose is a singer, songwriter and percussionist. The great-grand daughter of the conductor Cupertino de Menezes and granddaughter of the guitar player Manuel de Menezes, both legends of the early Brazilian music, Rose started singing professionally with the Octeto Rio Orchestra performing in the musically wealthy nightclub scene of Rio. A seven-time winner of the International Brazilian Press Award for the “Best Female Brazilian Singer
Residing and Performing in the USA”, Rose has also been recognized by Miami’s New Times as “Best Female Vocalist” of the year (2003) and “The Best Lounge Act” (2005).
